Architecture Director Publishes Work in Journal of Architectural Education

Architecture Division Director Stephanie Pilat recently published an article in the Journal of Architectural Education advocating for academic ranking metrics to recognize faculty work in architecture.

The National Research Council, the leading body for measuring faculty accomplishments currently counts over 1,300 different awards in academia. Architecture awards from ARCC, AIA, EDRA and ACSA, are, however, entirely absent from the NRC and other lists. Not even the Pritzker Prize, the profession’s highest honor is counted. Pilat’s article, “Measure What You Treasure: Elevating the Work of Architects in the Academy,” addresses this phenomenon and offers a path forward.
