In support of the February 27 statement from University of Oklahoma Interim President Joseph Harroz Jr., the Deans of the 15 Colleges and the University Libraries, together with the Provost, write to reaffirm our commitment to our fundamental goal: cultivating a community of inclusion to make OU a place of true belonging.
We all acknowledge the need to actively foster pathways for reconciliation. We are rededicated to improving, expanding, and accelerating our efforts to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment that supports all members of our community throughout their educational and personal growth. Without this foundation firmly in place, none of the other work that we do can have enduring value. Please know that we are eager to partner with you and our communities to identify and implement the steps that we must take to successfully meet our commitment and to do so immediately.
We are deeply grateful to all those who strive to make OU a more inclusive and equitable community and urge everyone to join the effort as we work together with various campus groups to cultivate an environment that welcomes and supports all students, faculty, and staff.
As a reminder: The University, each College, and the University Libraries have resources in place to enhance services for well-being.
If you witness any incident of inappropriate or hateful behavior, please contact the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’s 24-hour reporting hotline (844-428-6531), www.ou.ethicspoint.com, the Office of Student Conduct (405) 325- 1540, email@example.com), or your college office immediately.
