Associate Professor of Architecture Daniel Butko, AIA and Zach Maggia, AIA were invited to present their ADALAC acoustic concrete research at the recent American Concrete Institute (ACI) international conference, where their work was also recognized with an ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction Award!
The American Concrete Institute (ACI) is a leading authority and resource worldwide for the development, distribution, and adoption of consensus-based standards, technical resources, educational programs, and proven expertise for individuals and organizations involved in concrete design, construction, and materials, who share a commitment to pursuing the best use of concrete. Butko and Maggia recently presented their research to the Oklahoma ACI Chapter and were then invited to present at the virtual ACI conference held in late October.
More than 2000 engineers, architects, contractors, educators, manufacturers, and material representatives from around the world met virtually at ACI’s convention to learn from one another and engage with like-minded companies who develop and impact the concrete industry and its codes, specifications, and guides.
The convention also features the ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction Award. The Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards celebrate innovation and inspire excellence throughout the global concrete design and construction community. The Awards are divided into seven categories: Decorative, Infrastructure, Repair and Restoration, Flatwork, Low-Rise, Mid-Rise, and High-Rise.
Over the last 7 years, the Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards have developed into ACI’s premier international project awards program. Butko and Maggia’s ADALAC project was nominated in the category of Decorative by the Oklahoma ACI Chapter. ADALAC scored second place among several incredible projects from around the world!
Congratulations to Daniel Butko and Zach Maggia for their work and this amazing recognition!
